ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES
2022
Synopsis
ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES is a curated project where SillySeason invited six emerging artists to confront the idea of legacy. For ten days, creators from the areas of cinema, dance, performance, and theater inhabited Rua das Gaivotas6, with a view to building six artistic objects. The meeting of a generation emerging in the contemporary cultural fabric – giving them space, visibility and conditions for creation – aimed at promoting a new thought that gives form and representation to different languages.
The questioning about a legacy, the one that stays in us and that is not chosen, or what we decide to represent us, makes up a crucial reason to speculate about the structural forms that condition us. Artists were offered a small monetary and logistical support, wanting to refuse the usual lack of support that plagues artists at the beginning of their journey. ALL TOMORROW’S PARTIES is therefore an extended show made up of different places of speech that rush to think and sign up for an ever-faster tomorrow.
GALINASSAGE
“Sometimes I think I'm nothing more than a clucking chicken, with its feathers and feet dirty with shit, its belly full of pebbles."
The Prodigious Flowering of Anger
The Prodigious Flowering of Anger is the time of debauchery and affection: it is a reflection on the tearing apart, the transforming rupture, the eagerness for suffering, the fragile power of resilience, flight and encounter, love and the desire – be they beautiful or warlike. He talks about the body, the skin-body and the spirit-body. It is a solo-ritual, a solo-party or a dialogue of love at war, a communion by the abysmal human presence, by perversion and virtuosity, it is an invitation to the debauchery of atrocious and compassionate thought.
nothing and everything in side
nëss, artist from Mercês (Sintra line) and member of the Troublemaker Records label, who in the past presented us with songs as urgent as don't ask, it's rude, how much i cared will never reach it's peak or KARMA, will present in this residence a sound and visual landscape, which he named “nothing and everything in side” nëss uses this piece as a mirror, not only to look inside and reflect on his identity (addressing pressing issues how to be a racialized and non-binary person), but also to lead the public to face that same mirror, thus exploring how their identities and their bodies are perceived by others. Through a myriad of sound and visual elements, nëss will take people on an introspective search for the everything and nothing that inhabits each body.
