Antigone
2025
Synopsis
In Antigone, by the SillySeason collective, the classic is once again revisited to question the discretionary power of the state.
Who are these three young people, Antigone, Polynices and Haemon, sometimes abandoned, sometimes condemned, by the latest government policies?
What do they think and feel?
In his last interviews, the philosopher George Steiner said that “we are killing our children’s dreams”.
But what are these dreams after all?
What are we still allowed to dream in 2025?
Will this be our tragedy?

a dramaturgy whose main references are the ‘ghost artists’ of the Portuguese 20th century. In this way, the figure of Maria Mello Giraldes will enable discourse about the “non-inscription” and “non-representation”, in the words of José Gil, of female narratives. Just like “Memória da Matéria” and “Milénios” - two works that the poet ended up not publishing in her lifetime - “Este é o meu Nome” also searches for a spatio-temporal ephemeris that changes the order of things.
